Wild Blueberry and Green Tea Smoothie
1 cup frozen Wild Blueberries
1/2 cup refrigerated unsweetened coconut milk beverage
1/2 cup double strength lemongrass & spearmint green tea (see substitute)
2 tablespoons vanilla protein powder
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon golden flaxseed meal
1/2 teaspoon chia seeds
1/2 medium banana
1/2 cup crushed ice
1 teaspoon raw honey
- In the bowl of a blender, combine all ingredients and blend on HIGH until smooth and creamy.
- Thicken the smoothie with the remaining banana or extra wild blueberries.
- Garnish with a lime.
- To make lemongrass & spearmint green tea, combine 1 cup boiling water with 2 tea bags and steep 5 minutes. This will be enough for batches of the smoothie recipe.
Substitute Suggestions: Any citrus green tea that is preferably unsweetened. I used Tazo Zen green tea.
