Blueberry Valley Farm, Union

Blueberry Valley farm is a family owned business, managed by Richard, Brenda, Sarah. I’ve been working with blueberries since I was a young boy. Through the generations as time has changed so have the methods of harvesting. Located in the town of Union, our 50-acre farm generates around 50,000 pounds of wild blueberries per year. Our field, which is in a different location than the farm, has been in the family for over 150 years. Throughout the years, our berries have sold to processing plants and other local businesses. We supply fruit for jams, jellies, and pies as well as fresh packed fruit for local farm-stands and individual consumers.
In the past few years, we have started offering fresh berries right to you, the consumer. This year, we’ll be offering jams, pies, quarts, and more. Starting August 1st, the store hours are 11:00 AM-5:00 PM. Call ahead for orders. No pets.

Brodis Blueberries, Hope

Celebrating Wild Blueberry Weekend (August 7 and 8 from 10AM-5PM each day) Brodis Blueberries invites you to visit our 7 generation family farm and purchase fresh or frozen wild blueberries, jams and other products. Blue Barren Distillery will also be in operation each day, offering tastings and sales of their award winning spirits. Cocktails will be available for purchase each evening from 4:00-7:00PM.

Also attending will be vendors who purchase our Brodis wild blueberries and make their own value-added products, including Bluet Sparkling Wine and Masquoit Vinegar. Each day “Between the Buns” food truck will be on site offering you a chance for lunch or dinner while enjoying our stunning view of Alford Lake and the mountains beyond. The Aldermere Acheiver 4-H Club will be holding a bake sale with some wonderful sweets!

Each day you will be able to sample the freshest of wild blueberries by hand picking a sample of your own and take a short hike for a great view of our farm and area. At 10:30 AM each day a hike will end with a special reading of Blueberries for Sal, a classic childrens’ book in our family for sure!

Sunday will be the most active day as Wyman’s “Bee Wild” truck will be offering free fruit cup samples and games and activities for all to enjoy. The University of Maine Wild Blueberry research staff will be represented to help you learn even more about wild blueberries and perhaps learn about many other resources they provide as well. The list is still being finalized, but look for some local craft vendors to also be in attendance!

Our on-line order reservation system can be found on our website at As we expect that there is a good chance that Wild Weekend could be the end of this year’s harvest, we encourage everyone to order and even pick up their berries before the event if possible! Visit website » / Email »

Worcester’s Wild Blueberries, Orneville Township

We will begin your visit by viewing both a field we are harvesting this year as well a field that will be harvested next year. We rotate our fields so that we pick 35 acres each year and have another 35 acres which will be harvested the following year. During the field visit you will have the opportunity to try your hand at hand raking some berries. We will also demonstrate the use of our walk-behind mechanical pickers. Next, we will take you inside the factory where we process and pack our berries for sale. Sanitation is a major issue in the processing area so you will get a brief lesson on what you must do if you want to try your hand at processing or packing berries. We will explain how the fresh lines operate and you will be able to see how we handle both the raw berries and the finished products. We will also explain how we comply with the USDA tracking system. Each individual product has a tracking number which shows the field where the berries were picked and the date they were picked. Lastly, we will visit the value-added kitchen area. Here you will see the various value-added products we make and will have the opportunity to purchase these products as well as any of our fresh pack pints, quarts and/or 5&10 pound boxes of fresh berries.
